Not announcing ColdFace

Okay this is it… I’m working on a little project called ‘ColdFace’. There I said it. Now I have to make it happen or look like a doofus for talking it up.

Thanks to BiteMan and Edifier for (both) suggesting the name ColdFace. I had another in mind and I might still change it. Because I can. ColdFace is a ‘big’ word, maybe too big for my wee project. But for now we can blame those guys ;)

What is ColdFace? I’m loathed to use the word framework. It’s more like package of components and tags that can make Facebook apps ridiculously easy for ColdFusion developers.

I really hope a few people try it (when the time comes) and give me a little feedback.

Sorry, no code to show yet. A while back I did try to write some doco.

I would love to get FBML working!!! It is about time that someone be able to write a nice facebook app in CF. The app I wrote will work well directly from the url but when I try to get to it via facebook I get an error and if I view the source it says:
The system has attempted to use an undefined value, which usually indicates
a programming error, either in your code or some system code.

Null Pointers are another name for undefined values.

Any ideas or tips?

BTW - very interested in testing what you are cooking up, sounds like exactly what I (and others I know of) are looking for!

@Anthony, re: the error - do you get more error information? Hopefully you’ll see the line number of where the error occurred. You may look to ‘Enable Robust Exception Information’.

I’m real close, I promise!
I’m trimming it back to get an initial release out. Assuming I get the time it should be done by the weekend. Thanks again for the interest.
